I do not fear computers. I fear lack of them. Isaac Asimov
The group has acceess to several leading-edge computational resources. Below a few statistics on the CPU usage.
Our institute owns a large quota on the Mönch cluster.
This machine is a 10 rack NEC-provided Intel-based system with 4 login nodes, 376 standard compute nodes, 40 large-memory compute nodes (64GB RAM), 24 huge-memory compute nodes (256GB RAM) and 8 servers to provide I/O to Lustre.
Group members can apply for computational grants at the Swiss National Supercomputing Centre (CSCS).
Computation grants at CSCS provide access to first class computational resources like the top 6 (list November 2014) machine in the world Piz Daint.
